Shira Schaktman, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist in New Jersey and New York. Dr. Schaktman has also obtained the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT), granted by the Psypact commission, which allows her to practice virtual therapy with clients located in Psypact states.
Dr. Schaktman provides psychotherapy, supervision, and consultation services to individuals, couples, and families. Her therapeutic approach is strength based and includes a combination of support, exploration, guidance, feedback, and concrete recommendations.
With an expertise in relational dynamics and cyclical patterns in dating and relationships, Dr. Schaktman works with individuals and couples who feel unhappy, anxious, distressed, and generally dissatisfied in life and their relationships. Throughout the therapeutic process, clients learn about their core selves, wants and needs, and how to implement boundaries in order to overcome relationship roadblocks.
